Montgomery County Emergency Services District No. 4 and Needham Fire Rescue Company are dedicated to providing public safety services to our citizens that result in improved quality of life and peace of mind. Our members will strive to minimize losses and suffering through emergency service delivery, public education, public information, and community service activities. We will provide service and treat those we serve and each other in a manner that is honest, fair, and unbiased; honor our heritage, actively participate in our community, and serve with integrity; strive to support the individual development, personal satisfaction, and pride of all members and employees; and endeavor to uphold the unique camaraderie and trust that is the fire service. Montgomery County Emergency Services District No. 4 and Needham Fire Rescue Co. are a progressive combination fire department located about 30 miles north of Houston, TX. The department was founded in 1973 as a volunteer department and in 2004 began staffing with paid personal.
Today we serve the communities of Harpers Preserve, Gleneagles, Montgomery Creek Ranch, City of Woodloch, Huntington Estates, Forest Hills, Carriage Hills, Lakeland, Northline Oaks, Tamina Community, Jacobs Reserve and more. While protecting these communities we also have the lowest ESD tax rate in Montgomery County.
Staffing consists of 52 full- and part-time paid staff and 6 volunteers. Our command staff consists of a Chief, Assistant Chief, 2 Deputy Chiefs, 2 Captains, 3 Battalion Chiefs, and 9 Lieutenants. Our full-time paid staff works two (2) days on and four (4) days off (48/96 shift).
We operate state of the art equipment with trained staff to meet the challenges of virtually any emergency situation. Needham Fire Rescue is a full service department providing fire, rescue and first responder medical services for our community.
Montgomery County Emergency Services District No. 4 and Needham Fire Rescue operates three stations in our district. These stations consist of our Station 61 central fire station, located on State Highway 242, Station 62 located on Sleepy Hollow, and Station 64 located off 1488 on Lake Lamond Drive. All stations are staffed 24 hours per day with state certified fire and medical personnel to provide first responder service in cooperation with Montgomery County Hospital District.
Montgomery County Emergency Services District No. 4 and Needham Fire Rescue operate a fleet consisting of a 1 Ferrara platform ladder truck; 3 Ferrara engines; 1 Reserve 1981 Seagrave engine; 2 Ferrara and 1 International tankers; 3 Ford booster trucks used for accidents, medical calls, grass fires, etc.; 1 Ford F350 utility truck; 1 Chevrolet Express maintenance van; and 1 Rehab unit which is a Medico ambulance; and 1 Military 5T Cargo Truck for disaster situations.
Our command staff vehicles consist of 2 Ford Explorers, 1 Chevy Suburban, 1 Ford Expedition, 1 Dodge Ram 1500 truck, and 1 Ford Taurus.
